Kindergarten Registration

Dear Incoming Kindergarten Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

We are excited that you and your child will be joining the Wallace family! Registration for our incoming kindergarten class (2024-2025) will be held March 18th through March 22nd.  All registration forms will be sent home with current Wallace preschool students and will also be available online (www.wallacegs.org/student-registration).  If your child doesn’t currently attend our preschool, please contact the school office to have copies of the registration forms mailed home.  Included, you will find all of the required registration forms (listed below). In addition, you will need to provide the documents outlined in the Proof of Residency Form at the time of registration.  New Wallace students (did not attend our preschool) must also include a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

•       Proof of Residency Form – Must provide supporting documents

•       Medication Authorization Form - Only for students that take medication at school

•       Physical Form – Due October 15, 2024

•       Eye Exam Form – Due October 15, 2024

•       Dental Exam Form – Due May 15, 2025

The annual registration fee for students in kindergarten through eighth grade is $105 per child (the fee includes a yearbook). These fees may be paid by cash or check. In addition, the fees can be paid via credit card, but that option won’t be available until August when the student’s Teacherease account has been created for the school year (once the account is created and charged, you can access the online account and pay with your credit card). If you would like to pay by credit card, please let the office know at the time of registration so we can make note on your child’s account.

As the start of the 2024-2025 school year approaches, the school will share all back-to-school information (schedules, calendars, open house info, etc.) on the school website (www.wallacegs.org), on social media (Facebook/Twitter: @ottawawallace), and via email to all parents. In addition, kindergarten parents will be notified over the summer of their child’s homeroom placement. At that time, the classroom teachers will also send specific class information out to all parents. At least a week prior to the start of the school year, your child’s bus driver will be contact you with your child’s specific pick up and drop off times.

If your child is new to Wallace, you will also need to schedule a Kindergarten Entrance Screening (students that attend Wallace preschool will be screened during their preschool class). These screenings will be conducted by our kindergarten staff and will take approximately 20 minutes. They will be held on April 16th and April 23rd starting at 2:30 pm.  For those that do not attend the Wallace preschool program, you can visit the following link to sign up for a screening time slot:
